Our Philosophy
At Koji and More, we believe that food is one of the most powerful tools we have for healing, connection, and joy. Our mission is to make ancient Japanese food wisdom—especially koji fermentation and Chōkatsu (腸活)—approachable, practical, and life-changing for people from all walks of life.
This isn’t just about trends or superfoods. It’s about real ingredients, real tradition, and real transformation—starting with your gut.
Our Passion
Sharing delicious, nourishing meals has always been my love language. I’ve found joy in cooking for family and friends, watching them smile, and knowing that I’m supporting their health with every bite. To me, food is care, culture, and connection—all in one.
But everything changed in 2024 when I faced my own health scare and tragically lost my older brother to stage 4 colon cancer. His lifestyle had distanced him from the gut-friendly foods we grew up with in Japan, and the consequences were devastating.
That moment became my turning point. I reevaluated everything—my habits, my health, my work—and made the decision to return to my roots. I traveled back to Japan, studied Chōkatsu (Japanese gut wellness), and became a certified Cho-Katsu Advisor®. I also fell in love with koji, the magical mold that transforms simple foods into healing staples like miso, amazake, shio-koji, and more.
Our Purpose
Koji and More was born out of grief, hope, and a deep desire to help others before it’s too late. We’re here to guide anyone—no matter your background, culture, age, or current health—on a journey to better digestion, stronger immunity, and more energy through traditional Japanese food practices.
The “Koji” in our name represents the living foundation of Japanese fermentation.
The “More” includes everything else that supports gut health: Chōkatsu wisdom, mindful habits, daily rituals, and nourishing lifestyle practices.
